who is a valuator?
A professional valuator is a trained professional capable of providing valuation related services in a ethical and professional manner. Depending on the person's training and experience, the following are some areas of specialization: property appraisal services, project feasibility studies, highest and best use studies and other consulting services. For your valuation related needs, please contact an accredited member of the American Society of Appraisers at appraisers.org for the appraisal of machinery & equipment; and intangible asset appraisals, or the Appraisal Institute of Canada for real estate appraisals at aicanada.ca.
Valuators usually hold an undergraduate degree before undergoing valuation related training at the post graduate level. Depending on the field of interest, a person can specialize in real estate, personal property, artwork, machinery and equipment; or business valuations by taking professional courses offered by accreditation bodies. The American Society of Appraisers is one of the oldest accreditation bodies that offers accreditation training in all asset classes. The Appraisal Institute of Canada is focused on real estate appraisal and consulting training. The Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators, the preeminent business valuation accreditation body in Canada offers training specifically in business valuation training.
